What Yahuah Commanded vs What Rome Changed

The Prophecy: Daniel 7:25

"And he shall speak great words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time."

Daniel 7:25

Daniel prophesied that the little horn power -- the Papacy -- would attempt to change the very times and laws established by Yahuah. This is not speculation. It is documented history.

The prophecy does not say he would succeed in changing them -- only that he would "think to change" them. Yahuah's laws are eternal and cannot truly be altered. But Rome attempted to change them in the eyes of the people -- and billions follow these changes to this day without knowing it.

What They Changed - Daniel 7:25

The Complete Record of Changes

What Yahuah Established What Rome Changed It To
The Sabbath (7th Day)

The seventh day is the Sabbath of Yahuah your Elohim (Exodus 20:8-11). Observed from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset since creation. Never changed in Scripture.

Sunday (1st Day)

Emperor Constantine issued the first civil Sunday law in 321 AD. The Council of Laodicea (364 AD) declared: "Christians must not judaize by resting on the Sabbath." Rome openly claims this change as the mark of her authority.

Passover (Pesach)

Yahuah's memorial of deliverance, observed on the 14th of Aviv (Leviticus 23:5). Yahusha was the Passover Lamb, crucified on Passover.

Easter

Named after the pagan fertility deity Ishtar/Eostre. The Council of Nicaea (325 AD) divorced the date from the biblical calendar. Includes pagan fertility symbols: eggs, rabbits, sunrise services -- all borrowed from Babylonian worship.

Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot)

Yahuah's commanded autumn feast celebrating His dwelling among His people (Leviticus 23:34). Strong evidence Yahusha was born during Sukkot.

Christmas (December 25)

December 25 was the birthday of Sol Invictus (the Unconquered Sun) and Mithra/Tammuz. Pope Julius I officially set December 25 as the Messiah's birthday around 350 AD. Yule trees, gift exchanges, and mistletoe all originate from pagan winter solstice celebrations.

Biblical Calendar (Lunar)

Yahuah's calendar is based on the moon (Psalm 104:19, Genesis 1:14). Months begin with the new moon. Feasts are determined by this cycle.

Roman Calendar (Solar)

The Julian calendar (46 BC) and later the Gregorian calendar (1582 AD, by Pope Gregory XIII) replaced the biblical lunar system. The months are named after Roman deities and emperors (January = Janus, March = Mars, July = Julius Caesar, August = Augustus).

Biblical New Year (Aviv / Spring)

"This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you" (Exodus 12:2). The new year begins in spring with the month of Aviv, when the barley is ripe.

January 1

January 1 was established as New Year's Day by Julius Caesar in 45 BC, named after Janus, the two-faced Roman deity of transitions. It has no connection to Scripture whatsoever.

Yahuah / Yahusha

The sacred names of the Creator and His Son. Yahuah (YHWH) appears nearly 7,000 times in the Hebrew text. "This is my name forever, and this is my memorial unto all generations" (Exodus 3:15).

Substitute Titles and Names

The sacred name was removed and replaced with generic titles. The Septuagint used "Kurios" (a title), the Latin Vulgate used "Dominus," and English translations use substitutes. The name was hidden from the people for centuries.

2nd Commandment (No Graven Images)

"Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath" (Exodus 20:4-6). A complete, explicit commandment.

Removed from the Roman Catechism

The Roman Catholic catechism deletes the 2nd commandment entirely. This was done to permit the veneration of statues, icons, and images of saints and Mary -- practices that directly violate the original commandment.

10th Commandment (Do Not Covet)

"Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant..." (Exodus 20:17). One commandment about coveting.

Split into Two Commandments

To maintain a count of ten after removing the 2nd commandment, Rome split the 10th commandment into two: "Do not covet your neighbor's wife" becomes the 9th, and "Do not covet your neighbor's goods" becomes the 10th. A deliberate manipulation.

Torah Observance (Obedience to Yahuah's Instructions)

"The Torah of Yahuah is perfect, converting the soul" (Psalm 19:7). Yahusha said, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law" (Matthew 5:17).

"The Law Is Done Away With"

Rome taught -- and mainstream Christianity inherited -- the doctrine that the Torah was "nailed to the cross" and is no longer binding. This directly contradicts Yahusha's own words in Matthew 5:17-19. It is the foundational deception of the apostasy.

Rome's Own Admission

They Do Not Hide It

What makes this even more striking is that Rome does not deny these changes. They boast of them as proof of their authority:

"The Church changed the observance of the Sabbath to Sunday by right of the divine, infallible authority given to her by her Founder... The Protestant, claiming the Bible to be the only guide of faith, has no warrant for observing Sunday."

-- The Catholic Mirror, September 23, 1893

"Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change was her act... And the act is a mark of her ecclesiastical power and authority in religious matters."

-- Letter from C.F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons, October 28, 1895

Daniel 7:25 -- Fulfilled to the Letter

Daniel said the beast power would "think to change times and laws." Rome changed the appointed times (Sabbath to Sunday, feasts to pagan holidays, lunar calendar to solar) and the laws (removing the 2nd commandment, splitting the 10th, declaring Torah abolished).

This is not interpretation. This is documented history. Every single change listed above is verifiable. The question is not whether Daniel's prophecy was fulfilled. The question is: will you continue following Rome's changes, or will you return to what Yahuah actually commanded?
