Two Sticks of Ezekiel 37 - Judah and Ephraim Joined

The Two Sticks of Ezekiel 37

"Moreover, you son of man, take one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim and for all the house of Israel his companions: And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in your hand."

Ezekiel 37:16-17

"And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all."

Ezekiel 37:22

Israel was split into two kingdoms after Solomon: the southern kingdom of Judah (Judah and Benjamin) and the northern kingdom of Ephraim/Israel (the remaining ten tribes). They were scattered among the nations. The northern tribes were carried off by Assyria and lost their identity.

Ezekiel 37 prophesies their reunification. Two sticks becoming one. Two kingdoms becoming one nation. One King, one Shepherd over them all. This has never happened in history. It remains unfulfilled — awaiting Yahusha's return.

The two witnesses of Revelation 11 may reflect this same pattern: two testimonies rising, bearing witness, then being raised together. The two sticks pattern — Judah and Ephraim — being joined in the hand of the Most High at the appointed time.

Patterns Within Patterns

The 430-Year Pattern

"Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years. And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of Yahuah went out from the land of Egypt."

Exodus 12:40-41

Israel was in Egypt for exactly 430 years. To the day. Not approximately. The text emphasizes "the selfsame day" — precise to the calendar.

Now observe the modern parallel:

The 430-Year Echo

1 1517 AD: Martin Luther posts the 95 Theses. The Protestant Reformation begins — the beginning of the "exodus" from spiritual Babylon (Rome).
2 1517 + 430 = 1947.
3 1947 AD: The United Nations votes to partition Palestine. The nation of Israel is reconstituted (declared May 1948, but the resolution was November 1947).
4 Same pattern, same duration. 430 years from spiritual exodus to national restoration — echoing the original 430 years from entry into Egypt to physical exodus.

The Throne Connection

"Thus says the Sovereign Yahuah; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this shall not be the same: exalt him that is low, and abase him that is high. I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him."

Ezekiel 21:26-27

Zedekiah was the last king of Judah before the Babylonian exile. When he fell, the throne of David was "overturned." The prophecy states it will be overturned three times — "overturn, overturn, overturn" — and then it shall be no more, UNTIL He comes whose right it is.

The throne has been empty for over 2,500 years. No legitimate king of the Davidic line has sat on it. It awaits the one whose right it is: Yahusha HaMashiach, the rightful heir to the throne of David (Luke 1:32-33). The throne is not abolished — it is reserved.

The Times of the Gentiles

"And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled."

Luke 21:24

Yahusha prophesied a specific period of Gentile dominion over Jerusalem. This is not open-ended. It has a defined duration: 2,520 years — the period of seven prophetic times (7 x 360 = 2,520).

This number appears in the punishment cycles of Leviticus 26, where Yahuah warns that if Israel disobeys, He will punish them "seven times" for their sins. Seven times = 2,520 years of Gentile rule over the land and people.

The times of the Gentiles is not a vague concept. It is a measurable period with a beginning and an end. When it is fulfilled, Jerusalem is restored to its rightful King.

Spring Feasts Fulfilled, Fall Feasts Remain

This parallel deserves emphasis because it is one of the strongest arguments against the claim that the feasts have been "done away with."

The Inescapable Logic

1 There are seven feasts total. Four spring feasts and three fall feasts.
2 Four spring feasts have been fulfilled — Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits, and Shavuot — all at Yahusha's first coming.
3 Three fall feasts remain unfulfilled — Trumpets, Atonement, and Tabernacles — awaiting His second coming.
4 If the feasts were abolished at the cross, why are only half fulfilled? You cannot abolish a system that is only halfway complete. That would be like tearing up the second half of a contract after only the first half has been executed.
5 The half-fulfilled state proves the feasts still stand. They are active. They are prophetic. And the remaining three await their appointed day.

The Mortgage Analogy — Colossians 2:14

"Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his stake."

Colossians 2:14

This verse is constantly cited as proof that the Torah was "nailed to the cross" and therefore abolished. But read it carefully. It says "the handwriting of ordinances that was against us." What was against us?

The Torah itself is never described as "against us." It is described as perfect (Psalm 19:7), a delight (Psalm 119:77), and the way of life (Proverbs 6:23). What was against us was the record of debt — the certificate of indebtedness that our violations of the Torah had accumulated.

Consider a mortgage analogy:

The Mortgage Illustration

1 You have a mortgage (debt) on your house. The debt is the record of what you owe.
2 Someone pays off your mortgage completely. The debt is cancelled. The certificate of indebtedness is destroyed.
3 Does the bank cease to exist? No. Do the rules of banking disappear? No. Does the law against theft get abolished because your debt was paid? Of course not.
4 The debt was nailed to the stake — not the law. Yahusha paid the debt we owed for violating the Torah. He did not destroy the Torah itself.
5 The law still stands. The debt is cancelled. You are free from the penalty — not free from the standard.

Romans 8:6 and the Mediator System

"For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace."

Romans 8:6

"But the anointing which you have received of him abides in you, and you need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teaches you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it has taught you, you shall abide in him."

1 John 2:27

The carnal mind demands a mediator system. It needs a building. A title. A degree. A denomination. A pastor between you and the Word. A council to tell you what Scripture means. A creed to filter what you are allowed to believe.

The spiritual mind needs three things: you, the Word, and the Spirit.

This is not anti-community. Fellowship is commanded. But the moment a human institution positions itself between you and Scripture — telling you what the text cannot possibly mean, forbidding you from testing their doctrine against the Word — you have entered a mediator system that Yahusha came to dismantle.

There is one mediator between the Most High and men: Yahusha HaMashiach (1 Timothy 2:5). Not a pope. Not a pastor. Not a denomination. Not a seminary education. The Spirit teaches. The Word confirms. And you are responsible for what you do with both.
